Don is a life long resident of Muskegon who has been married to his wife, Donna, for almost 60 years. It has been evident throughout his life that he is a "family man". He was excited that his sons desired to join him in the insurance agency almost 30 years ago. Don has 5 children, 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is an active member of Sheridan Drive Baptist church and has been involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship for decades. He has served on school boards and state committees and somehow always managed to make it to every important event in the lives of his children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. He is an extremely gifted fisherman and has enjoyed incredible success hunting whitetails with a bow, cross-bow, muzzleloader, and rifle.
Tom grew up in Western Michigan (Go Orchard View!!) and currently lives in Whitehall with his wife Robin. He has 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Tom graduated from Taylor University in 1980 with a BS in Business. Before joining his father in family business, Tom spent time with the home missions of the Baptist General Conference, the UAW, fast food, Carriage House Apartments, 84 Lumber and K Mart. He has also earned insurance industry designations CIC, CLU, CASL and LUTCF. He likes to fish, kayak, hunt, hike (backpack) and RUN (kind of jog now). He has a passion for kid's ministries and currently is involved with Awana and Children's Church at Life Change Church.
Tim is a life-long resident of Muskegon and has been married to his wife, Leslie, for 14 years. She is the best thing that ever happened to him. He has been blessed with 8 children (6 boys and 2 girls). He joined the family business after graduating from Liberty University in 1988. He has specialized training in commercial insurance from Drake University and The Hartford School of Insurance. In addition, he is been to numerous Brotherhood Mutual schools which train agents specifically for insuring churches, Christian colleges, Christian camps and religious institutions. He is an active member of Sheridan Drive Baptist Church where he has directed the AWANA program for over 25 years. His favorite activities have always been hunting and fishing with his dad. However, now it has changed to spending time with his growing family (who spend a lot of time hunting and fishing with their dad).
Jeff was born and raised in Muskegon, but spent most of his working career in Grand Haven and Holland MI. In his working career he has worked closely with businesses all over the state. After spending 30 years in the Mechanical Engineering field, he joined the family agency in 2007. He worked for 20 years with Superior Concepts Inc. of Grand Haven, Mi. and was their Chief Operating Officer. He is familiar with many manufacturing processes and manufactured products, and has been responsible for the design of specialized industrial equipment. This background combined with his training in insurance gives him a unique perspective as a Commercial Insurance Agent, as well as providing many additional benefits to the clients he serves. He is committed to continuous education and personal growth to provide the best solutions possible for his clients. He enjoys working with businesses and ministries to identify and find solutions to their insurance needs.
He has been married to Janice Hartley (Carpenter) for 35 years and has 6 children and 13 grand children.
He serves as a Deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher at Sheridan Drive Baptist Church where he has attended his whole life.
He currently serves as the State Board Chairman for CEF of Michigan.
He enjoys bowling, playing guitar, and traveling any place warm.
A life long resident of the Fruitport area, Caryn began her insurance career in 1987, and joined the agency in 1991. Caryn continues to be amazed by God's faithfulness and blessing and loves the wonderful gift of her daughter and son-in-law and their children. When not spoiling the grandkids, and enjoying a large extended family, Caryn can usually be found crocheting or trying out a new recipe with her little helpers.
John is a life long resident of the Muskegon area and currently lives with his wife, Carole, in Norton Shores. The couple has three married children and seven granddaughters. His church home is Grace Assembly of God in Fruitport. John loves the outdoors and all Michigan seasons have to offer. Trout fishing and small game hunting are activities enjoyed and he continues to enjoy deer hunting. He has been involved with the insurance industry for over twenty years, much of it in the area of auto, RV, marine and sport dealerships.
Judi is a life long resident of Muskegon and can't imagine living anywhere else. She attends Kainay Church and is married to her best friend, Dave. They are now empty nesters. Her job at Carpenter Insurance Agency is a blessing to her as she enjoys people and helping them.
Kaitlin and her husband Kyle moved to Muskegon in July of 2016. They met in Kaitlin’s hometown of Maricopa, Arizona in 2008 and decided to move back to Muskegon to be near family. She attends The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene with her family and is involved in her church’s kids’ ministry program. In her free time she loves sewing, woodworking with her husband, and going on bike rides with their dog, Perry.
Shelby moved to Muskegon approximately 10 years ago and is very passionate about the community. After graduating from Central Michigan University, she began a career in Human Resources which transformed to stay-at-home mom and school volunteer for several years. She has been married to her husband Patrick for 17 years and they have three amazing and very active children. Together they attend St. Gregory's Episcopal Church in Norton Shores and serve as youth camp counselors for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Michigan every summer. Her hobbies are baking, swimming, and spending time with her incredible friends
